LaunchMate - Free itch.io Release Helper

LaunchMate is a small local Windows tool that helps itch.io creators prepare, clean and package releases before uploading them.

It is made for games, tools, asset packs, comics, books, soundtracks and other downloadable itch.io projects.

What it does:

- scans a project/build folder before upload

- checks for common release mistakes

- finds private/dev/trash files like .env, logs, old ZIPs, node_modules, .git, .psd, .bak, etc.

- scans text files for local paths, emails or token-like strings

- checks for README, screenshots, cover-like images and launch files

- lets you choose project type, release type and package type

- creates a clean release folder

- creates an upload ZIP

- creates README_FIRST.txt

- creates .itch.toml when a launch file is detected

- creates itch.io page field notes, description text and install instructions

- creates release announcement and feedback request drafts

- creates simple cover/social/devlog images

- lets you review and edit all generated output text before exporting

- includes butler locally for optional uploads

What it does not do:

- it does not edit your itch.io page directly

- it does not upload automatically unless you run the generated butler BAT

- it does not delete or change your original project folder

- it does not judge whether your project is good or fun

- it is not affiliated with itch.io

Everything runs locally.

No cloud upload.
